Deep Diving Bailout Rebreathers successfully completes the first offshore dive to 270 meters of seawater
MJM Offshore Ltd; Introduce the replacement to the conventional SCUBA bailout methods. This new bailout provides divers with a greatly extended supply of breathing gas in the event of a primary supply failure. Recently following extensive testing, this bailout granted full CE marking status, making it the only approved system of its kind to achieve NORSOK U101 (Diving Respiratory Equipment) and EN14143 (Self Contained Rebreathing Apparatus) standards. As such, leading the way in terms of safety and functionality.
At the extreme depths of 270 meters of seawater, traditional bailout systems would give me less than 2 minutes or less of emergency breathing gas, whereas this self-contained bailout system provides up to 20 minutes minimum of emergency breathing gas for this depth, offering the diver a greatly extended opportunity to return safely to the diving bell.
This bailout system reduces a diver’s gas usage by effectively recycling the diver’s breathing, removing carbon dioxide and injecting a flow of fresh breathing gas to replace the oxygen consumed.
This is a big step forward changing diver safety by improving the chances of survival for a diver when disconnected from his primary supply, a hugely relevant issue in the industry. This bailout system will be adopted globally as standard for all saturation divers at all depths, not just for deeper diving.
How about this; First time recorded 100 foot high waves offshore in the North Sea England. I have been in 80 foot high waves about 200 miles offshore from Aberdeen England, a great experience when you are on a big diving vessel known as a Diving Support Vessel (DSV). A big vessel that can safely deal with big waves.
